Pattern drafting software has been around for a long time, and it does know all the terms and does generate great patterns! Google Dress Shop and you'll see. But want to know what's hard? Taking the measurements, which are impossible to do well alone. They aren't all typical dressmaking measurements, and although I paid two seamstresses to take mine, they didn't read carefully, got a little testy, and their sets didn't work.
Lekala uses some sort of auto generated pattern drafting so you can buy patterns according to your own measurements. Found them on Etsy. I believe it is a European company, but not 100% on that.
