"Midnight blue so lonely without you./ Gone now and forever./ Please let the music play." A Hong Kong female pop singer included this song in her album back in 1980s. The booklet of the tape–yes, tape, not CD–did mention that the melody was from Beethoven. Twenty years later, I studied in Connecticut. One time for no reason I burst into this song, and my companion, who had grown up with classical music, immediately recognized the tune. This clip brings back all those memories….
