Reformatori precum Robert Owen, Charles Fourier și Auguste Comte au propus idei noi radicale și, în același timp, oamenii obișnuiți au început să se ridice și să ceară o mai mare egalitate și o voce mai puternică în modul în care sunt guvernați. Slight correction – 1890's peterloo massacre wasnt by the police but by the military. The police force wouldn't be established until a couple years later.
The massacre influenced the decision for british police to be equipped with trunchions instead of guns, and for their uniform to be blue instead of red to distance the police from the military in the eyes of the public. Its a minor detail but yh.
